Under the slogan “Manuscripts, the Intellectual Heritage of Nation”, Hibatuddin Al-Shihristani Legacy Revival Center, in cooperation with Kerbala Heritage Center, Islamic & Human Sciences Dept.

, Al-Abbas Holy Shrine, held an expanded symposium on critical editing of part of the legacy of the scholar Al-Shihristani.

Twenty six researchers participated in the critical editing of 22 manuscripts.

The manuscripts dealt with various subjects.

The two specialized academic sessions were opened to give an account on the work of the researchers through an invaluable word by his Eminence Sayyed Ahmed Al-Safi (God bless him) in which he shed light on the importance of the manuscripts in demonstrating the nation's culture and the efforts that our scholars exerted in order to enrich libraries with different kinds of knowledge.

Our scholars were the first to enter this realm.

Today, we shoulder this responsibility through protecting, collecting, restoring and critically editing manuscripts and get them ready for printing so that researchers may draw upon that heritage.

The two sessions shed light on 12 manuscripts as far as the time for the symposium allowed where researchers tried to give a brief presentation on the manuscripts they worked on for editing and explained their experiences in studying, critical editing, commenting and introducing their approach in doing so.
