The effect of plant population on the guar growth and seed production.

The experiment included field trails carried out in the farm of the Collage of Animal Production , kuku town , in the growing season 2001'-2002.

the experiment investigates the effect of plant population on plant growth , productivity , protein content, ash and dry matter in the guar seeds.

Treatments included four seeding rate , 2, 3, 4.

and 5 Kg / feddan , grow in raws.

Measurements taken for study included the vegetative and reproductive growth period height plant number of branches /plant , the total number of pods / plant, number of seeds / plant, average weight of 1000 seeds and total seed production /ha.

The chemical analysis of the Guar seed has been estimated.

statistical analysis indicated that the seed rate / unit area, his significant effect on the vegetative growth period , plant height number of pods / plant, number of seeds / pod and the weight, of lOOO seeds.

The highest yield was obtained at the seed rate of 3 Kg /feddan which resulted in 1.9 Ton / hectare.

At the seed rates of 4 and 5 Kg / Fe.

the yield decreased with about 7%and 25 % respectively'.

The chemical analysis nroved that there is no significant effect for the seed rate on chemical component of the Guar seeds.
