Today, teaching foreign languages is based on a new dimension.

Now, culture is considered essential for the learner.

Here we are dealing with the problem of teaching French in Algeria and its relationship with teaching its culture as well.

This cannot be done without a reflection.

The analysis of French textbooks must show if the cultural aspect is taken into consideration and how.

Our contribution will consist of analysing the textbooks of French in primary school in Algeria.

And on the basis of the themes and the contents which prevail there, to evaluate the representativeness of French culture, moreover to judge their intelligibility, and their compatibility with the culture of the learners.

الملخص FRE

Aujourd'hui, l'enseignement des langues étrangères est recentré sur une dimension nouvelle, la culture, reconnue comme incontournable dans l'apprentissage.

Il s'agit pour nous de poser la problématique de l'enseignement du français en Algérie et ses rapports avec l'enseignement de sa culture.

Ce qui ne va pas sans une réflexion sur son enseignement.

L'analyse des manuels pour l'enseignement du français doit révéler si la dimension culturelle est prise en charge et comment.

Notre contribution va donc consister à analyser le manuel scolaire du français dans l'enseignement primaire en Algérie; et à partir des thèmes et des contenus qui y prévalent d'évaluer la représentativité de la culture française, par ailleurs de juger de leur intelligibilité, et de leur compatibilité avec la culture des apprenants.
