The article aims to understand the impact of corruption on economic growth in Algeria during the period 1984-2018.
In order to do so, we first developed a theoretical and empirical literature on the link between corruption and economic growth.
In a second step, we studied the impact of corruption on economic growth in Algeria taking into account variables such as GFCF, FDI and the openness rate.
The ARDL approach concludes that the results are econometrically robust.
The estimation of the short- and long-term relationships pleads for a negative impact of corruption on economic growth.
الملخص FRE
L'objectif de cet article est de saisir l'impact de la corruption sur la croissance économique en Algérie pendant la période 1984-2018.
Pour ce faire, nous avons développé dans un premier temps une littérature théorique et empirique sur le lien entre la corruption et la croissance économique.
Dans un second temps, nous avons étudié l'impact de la corruption sur la croissance économique en Algérie tenant compte d'autres variables comme la FBCF, l'IDE et le taux d'ouverture.
L'approche ARDL conclut à des résultats robustes économétriquement.
L'estimation des relations de court terme et de long terme plaide pour un impact négatif de la corruption sur la croissance économique.
