Psychological tension regards one of the important psychological phenomena facing individuals in our current life in general, and University students in particular, due to the Fact that they face difficult problems of achieving themselves and building their incoming life.

The research aimed at modeling a test to measure psychological tension for freshmen at the University of Mosul for the academic year 20032004 .

To achieve such an aim, some hypotheses were formed, the sample consisted offour groups ofstudents in College of Basic Education and College of Computer science with each group consisting of (25) pupils.

As for the tool, the researcher viewed some tests and sources to build that test.

The Cutcome was a test which, after making reliability and stability, consisted of (30) items, with the degree limits at (90) at maximum and (30) at minimum .

Pearson Co-relation factor, T-.test for two Independent groups and variance equation were used.

The researcher found that the students have ghee psychological tension levels higher than ordinary persons, the tension of college of computer science students is way more higher than that of basic education students levels and finally, tension levels are higher for females more than males at the college of basic education The researcher recommended initiating other similar studies in other colleges and at other universities.
