Huge pleomorphic adenoma of the submandibular gland : a case report

Huge pleomorphic adenoma of the submandibular gland is a relatively rare clinical entity and frequently mistaken for other pathologies arising in the neck.

Detailed clinical history and careful physical examination are helpful in tumor diagnosis.

This report describes a case of a huge left submandibular pleomorphic adenoma which was managed by a surgical field unit while the Jordanian Armed Forces were working by the United Nation Mandate at East Timoore.

A 50-year-old lady from East Timoore, attended the clinic as she heard about a foreign medical team treating people in that area.

She presented with a huge cervical swelling of 25 years duration.

No case report in the literature of a pleomorphic adenoma with such a huge size was found.
