Le travail que nous avons mené tout au long de ces années sur l'œuvre de Nina Bouraoui, nous a permis de soulever la question de la place de la femme dans un contexte d'une double appartenance culturelle aux frontières inconciliables.

A la suite de son exil forcé, de sa coupure, de sa blessure symbolique, Nina Bouraoui va vivre le déracinement d'un être marqué par le sentiment de la perte et de l'errance.

Ses mots vont tenter de retrouver un point central, apaisant et serein.

De son expérience d'être née femme va transparaître, à travers son 1er roman La Voyeuse interdite, la difficulté du personnage central (Fikria) à s'assumer dans un contexte culturel arabo-musulman des années 70 à Alger.

Une vision négativiste du monde, des femmes « Mauresques », de la ville va être sans cesse évoquée.
