This paper examines the role of digital technologies in the open innovation approach in Algeria's manufacturing industry.

the purpose is to analyze the part of digital tools in improving innovation capabilities and open innovation through a survey of 68 Algerian manufacturing companies.

in addition, digital tools that support the open innovation approach are empirically identified.

the study results show that digital tools can facilitate innovation activities, focusing on their use as a response strategy to the needs of companies, improving their innovation process, and ensuring sustainability.

in addition, a higher degree of knowledge sharing with external partners favors the innovation orientation of the Algerian manufacturing companies.
