الملخص EN

Urinary tract diseases are considered to be common affections in cats.

cats are usually suffer from urinary diseases such as urolethiasis, poly cystic kidney disease (PKD) and interstitial cystitis, so this study was performed to determine the impact of those diseases on the clinical , hematological and serum biochemical parameters in cat.

additionally, to detect the usefulness of ultrasonographic examination as a diagnostic aid in diagnosis of these urinary affections in cat.

this study was performed on 95 cat aging from 2-8 old of both sexes and of differet breeds.

those cats were admitted to a private clinic in bohira governorate.

only 89 cats were diseased and suffering from signs of urinary tract diseases and the rest of them (6 cats) were clinically healthy.

the diseased animals were clinically suffered from signs of urinary tract diseases as dysuria, periuria, pollakiuria, stranguria, hematuria, anorexia and vocal signs.

according to the clinical signs which appeared on the diseased cats and the physical examination which performed on them, those diseased cats were diagnosed as suffering from urolethiasis (38 cat ), cystitis (35 cat) and polycystic kidney diseases (PKD, were 16 cats).

then urine and blood samples were collected from each healthy and diseased cat.

urine samples were collected via a sterile tom cat catheter for preforming complete urinalysis and blood samples from each cat were collected to preform hematological and serum biochemical examination.

whole blood samples were used for analysis of Hb(%), PCV(%), erythrocytic and total leucocytic count , while serum samples was used for analysis of serum urea nitrogen and creatinine.

In addition, ultrasonographic examination was performed on healthy and diseased cats to detect its usefulness as a diagnostic aid in diagnosis of such affections.

the postmortem examination was preformed after death of some diseased cases to detect the different necropsy findings affecting the urinary tract of diseased dead cats.

our results revealed that clinical signs of cats affected with urinary tract diseases were dysuria, periuria , pollakiuria ,stranguria , hematuria , anorexia, vocal signs, vomiting, pyrexia or hypothermia , while the hematological analysis showed different changes in RBCs, Hb%, PCV %, total leukocytic and platelets count between different groups of diseased cats as compared with the control healthy ones .

the serum analysis showed increased levels of blood urea nitrogen and creatinine in all diseased cats.

the ultrasonographic examination showed various results in different disease conditions which could support the pervious diagnostic methods for the different diseases of urinary tract.
