Researchers should conduct follow-up surveys of COVID-19 recovered patients in the convalescent phase which would be helpful to evaluate the health and social effects of this infection.

also, the COVID-19 recovered patients may have emotional stress due to their infection and may be suffered from bullying from the society post infection.

aim of the study : this study aimed to identify the medical and social effect of covid-19.

methods : a cross sectional study was conducted using an online self-reported questionnaire created by google form.

data were collected from 13 July to 15 October 2020.

results : of 339 patients participated in this study with 88.3% response rate, the mean age of them was 40.6 years.

more than three quarters of chronically ill patients noticed change in their illness after COVID-19 infection.

conclusions : the findings indicated that there were medical and social effects among the COVID-19 recovered patients.
