The writings of Western travelers contributed to the codification of the modern history of Algeria, on the same line of thought, among these travelers we find the Spanish prisoner Luis Marmol Carvajal, who unraveled bits and pieces of the history of Algeria in specific and North Africa in general.

The latter had uncovered various fields during his stay in Algeria, which coincided with the beginning of the 16th century AD.

On this basis, the present research paper attempts to shed light on the political and military aspect of the city of Bejaia between the duality of the Spanish occupation and the restoration of the city by the Turks in the light of the writings of this traveler.
