Economic policies are of paramount importance in macroeconomics.

We propose to study the effect of an increase in money supply on inflation in Algeria, based on data 2006: Q1 - 2016: Q4, by means of impulses response function IRF and the variance decomposition VD of the VAR / VECM model.

According to our results, the impact of the monetary shock would be appreciable, would have an immediate impact on the general level of prices and would persist over time.

This reinforces the Keynesian assertion
