الملخص EN

The purpose of this study is to show the conflicting attitudes of the poets towards 1st World War.

The definite change in the attitudes of poets towards warfare was inevitable.

Most, if not all, of the corpus of poetry written before WWI tended to glorify war as was the case in Rupert Brooke's poetry.

Other poets were actual participants in the struggle that was conducive to this change; they served both as molders of public sentiment and opinion and well-spoken men of their age like Robert Graves.
