This short essay focuses on the hybridization or creolization (Glissant) of languages in Algeria.

While I was analyzing the underlying causes which led to the collapse of the country’s system of linguistic codes by viewing them in the context of language inventiveness (or perhaps irrationality) unique to the Algerians, I noticed that, in reality, such a collapse was only one of the expected effects induced by an educational policy which was strongly conditioned by an ideological interpretation of the nation imposed from the top.
