With the development of the needs and necessities of the individual and the group in a world of conflict and competition over natural resources, art takes its position as one of the effective and influential solutions in relieving pressure on those resources and contributing to their perpetuation, and from that a problem was identified in the first chapter.

the research in the first chapter raises the following question: what is the role that art plays in promoting sustainable development? in order to reach the desired results, the research objective was determined by recognizing the role of art in promoting sustainable development.

as for the limits of the research, it included studying the relationship between art and sustainable development for the period from (1983-2022). as for the second chapter, it included an in-depth study of the concept of sustainable development in general, with a historical tracing of the concept's development.

as for the third chapter, it dealt with the relationship of art with society and its role in portraying and changing the behavior of individuals and society in a positive way, while the fourth chapter included procedural applications of the relationship between art and sustainable development without a detailed explanation of that relationship coupled with illustrations to clarify that.

as for the fifth chapter, it represented the results of the research, recommendations and suggestions.

the research reached a number of results, the most important of which are: -art contributed to the development of strategies and programs for good and sustainable environmental management and the eradication and alleviation of poverty through the creation of investment opportunities and the promotion of the idea of the creative industry as a method of development.

-the concept of sustainable development showed an integrative aspect, as economic, social and environmental developments go hand in hand and affect each other.

-the relationship between art and learning on the one hand and sustainable development on the other takes an integrative form, because art and learning play an active role in upgrading the capabilities, knowledge and skills of individuals.

through the findings of the research, the researcher reached a set of conclusions, the most important of which are: 1- art is a cognitive system that enjoys more freedom than the accumulated knowledge that is imbued with pure sciences, and ends with logical solutions, and this means that art in itself is development.

2- art constitutes and activates the changing dynamics as a tool for solving the individual’s struggle with himself first and with his social, cultural and natural environment secondly.

in the light of this study and its results, the researcher concluded a set of recommendations, including: 1- establishing specialized centers concerned with studying environmental changes and ways to address them by scientific methods, in order to contribute to enhancing the population’s awareness of environmental problems and then bring about the appropriate change in the needs and priorities of society.

2- establishing specialized technical centers aimed at supporting the creative process and building technical capabilities and skills to enable the target to possess innovation tools, which helps to provide job opportunities and thus contribute to the eradication or alleviation of poverty to complete the research requirements, the researcher suggests conducting the following research: 1- art and its role in promoting social ecology.

2- print advertising and its role in promoting the concept of development in society.
