The article deals with the Algerian Internal trade during the Ottoman Period (1519-1830) and Algiers as an illustration, especially in the multiple markets spreading inside and outside the towns.

The article deals also with the different products and merchandise handled in these markets, as well as the different elements practicing the commercial activity such as traders, craftsmen, and the supervisors and managers of these markets, the employers appointed to collect the direct and indirect taxes and the commercial exchanges between the town of Algiers and other towns.

The article aims at rehabilitating the national history in general and the history of Algeria during the Ottoman Period in particular focusing on the economic field especially the internal trade in Algiers the capital city of Algeria.
