الملخص EN

Open data is a platform for data that are publicly available to anyone to use freely, reuse, and redistribute.

governments are producing significant public data that are expected to create enormous social and commercial value as well as improve the civil governance.

according the to the world organizations of open data, republic of Sudan government has no open data portal, this paper proposed by building river Niles states’ open data portal using the so popular software CKAN as the platform of open data.

the implemented open portal allows public sectors to add organizations, datasets that have different formats such as XML, CSV, and XLS.

this implementation of open data portal encourages data governments, policy makers, development advisors, application developers, researchers and individuals to interact with available datasets.

this work is a part of a larger work of open data portals for other public sectors in river Nile state government and establishing a basis for building of open data for republic of Sudan.
