الملخص EN

This paper, basically focuses specifically on the demographic changes occurring in Yemen and links mortality and fertility trends and its relationship with the demographic and social-economics changes.

This paper also demonstrates the mortality and fertility levels as per the development occurrence in Yemen.

The stages of demographic transition and the empirical findings on demographic transition is discussed.

This is associated by presentation of relevant demographic figures on series of years leading to the prediction or forecasting the population up to 2030.

Yemen is considered as distinctly different Human Development Ranks with conservative and tribal socio-political systems.

The mortality transition as well as the fertility transition in Yemen are discussed as a part of the socio-economic progress.

Although the analysis shows decline, to some extent, in both aspects, yet significant progress in key development indicators Yemen still has a long way to go to provide basic services to the countries primarily rural population to balance its demography.

The education factor needs to be explained in better form in association with the other social and economic factors, which is a major determinant for this trend.

This paper shows the population transition in the population size, which is increased from 14.9 million in 1994 to 23.15 million in 2010, and the population growth rates for the same period decreased from 4.96% to 2.86% respectively.

The population size registered, later on, as 30,490,640 in 2021 with population growth rate 2,33%.

This demonstrates that although the population increased rapidly, yet the growth rate has shown decrease.

However, this decrease in the growth rate is still high comparing with those in the region and requires further consideration to hopeful decrease
