The effect of practical velocity and added weights on the efficiency performance of horticultural tractor (new holland T1520)‎

A field experiment was carried out in one of the fields of the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences - University of Baghdad Al-Jadriya for the season 2021 in a silt clay loam to study the effect of speed and added weights on the efficiency of the NEW HOLLAND T1520 horticultural tractor in the plowing and harrowing processes.

The first factor was speed (2.58, 4.50, 6.48 km hr1-) for the plowing process and (2.62, 4.67, 6.69 km hr1-) for the smoothing process.

The second factor is the additional weights and (60, 90, 120 kg) and the studied traits are field efficiency, fuel consumption and energy consumed.

The results showed that increasing the speed decreases field efficiency, fuel consumption and energy consumed by using moldboard plow in the plowing process and the rotary plow in the smoothing process.

The addition of weights led to an increase in field efficiency and a decrease in fuel consumption and energy consumed using the plow and the rotary plow.

The results also showed that the speed exceeded 2.58 km hr-1 in obtaining The highest field efficiency reached 68.47% by using the moldboard plow and the speed exceeded 2.62 km hr1- in obtaining the highest field efficiency of 74.70% using a rotary plow.
