The topic of ritual and popular believes, considered in general in the south of Morocco and especially in Assa area a virgin topic, needs more researches, and investigations, and more efforts to document all the oral collective memory of a popular and cultural heritage that serves humanity.

There are many confirmed signs about the flourishing of religious activities in Assa area, including what was reported by local accounts that popular beliefs considered Assa as saints land, and this reflected by local rituals enfolded by some spiritual symbols, besides the existence tombs and shrines, bearing many religious imprints in their sacred and spiritual sorts for people, which contributed to shape the popular collectiveconsciousness, around these rituals and beliefs, which remained stable in the formation of the historical and spiritual awareness, cross some social and cultural, and religious behaviour in Assa region.

what distinguished Assa worship corner (ZawyatAssa) from the rest of the other seasons that shape sacred appearance, is the phenomenon of “slaughtering”, a camel slaughtered at a special time in the religious festival, in front of Zawya.
