Conflict prevention approach is one of the main approaches in the field of peace and conflict studies, as it has crucial importance towards confronting conflicts over all stages of the conflict life cycle.

before the conflict begins where some signs emerge indicating that there is a conflict that may occur and during the conflict to prevent its escalation, as well as in the post-conflict phase, by taking some proper measures in order to prevent the conflict of turning up again.

this would be through eliminating the root causes of conflict.as a fact, some strategies have been used to prevent conflict such as direct prevention, structural prevention and transformational (systematic) prevention in the short, medium, and long terms.to this end, it is found that the prevention approach has a level of overlap with other approaches such as conflict management, conflict resolution, and conflict transformation, since the later approaches are limited to some stages of the conflict life cycle otherwise the former.
