This article aims to clarify the impact of financial inclusion on banking stability in Algeria, by estimating a measure of financial inclusion (associated with a control variable) on an aggregated measure of banking stability (IASB) through a model of multiple regression using annual data covering the period (2004-2020).
the results show that financial inclusion negatively affects financial stability in Algeria through the growth of bank loans for economic agents newly included in the financial sphere.
moreover, the econometric results also confirm the sensitivity of the index to changes in oil prices and highlight a positive relationship between the two variables.
الملخص FRE
Cet article vise à clarifier l'impact de l'inclusion financière sur la stabilité bancaire en Algérie, en estimant une mesure de l’inclusion financière (associée à une variable de contrôle) sur une mesure agrégée de la stabilité bancaire (IASB) à travers un modèle de régression multiple utilisant des données annuelles couvrant la période (2004-2020).
les résultats montrent que l’inclusion financière affecte négativement la stabilité financière en Algérie à travers la croissance des crédits bancaires pour les agents économiques nouvellement inclus dans la sphère financière.
par ailleurs, les résultats économétriques confirment aussi la sensibilité de l’indice face à la variation des prix du pétrole et mets en évidence une relation positive entre les deux variables.
