This Study sheds light on the remnants and branches of the royal families of Makuria located in the old Dongola region, the place of the capital of the Kingdom of Makuria, through the oral narrations circulating in the region, by taking the Kishsh family as a model for the royal families that claim to be from the dynasty that ruled the Kingdomof Makuria.

The study relied on the historical-analytical method and concluded: That there are some remnants of the Makurian royal dynasties are still present in the region, and that the Kishkash family is one of the families that belong to the Makurian royal dynaSty and an extension of it, according to most of the oral accounts that are supported by some historical evidence.
