The present research aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a cognitive behavioral counseling program in reducing burnout in educational counselors in Palestinian Rafah Governorate.

The study sample consisted of (30) educational counselors aged 34-53 years (MA 42.33 SD 6.99) divided into two equivalent groups: Experimental and control.

Research instruments implied Maslach Burnout Inventory (Radi, 2014) and a cognitive behavioral counseling program (prepared by the researcher).

Results revealed statistically significant differences between the mean ranks of the experimental and control groups in the post test on the Scale of Burnout in favor of the control group.

Results also revealed statistically significant differences between the mean ranks of the experimental group in the pre and post tests on the Scale of Burnout in favor of the pretest.

Whereas Results revealed no statistically significant differences between the mean ranks of the experimental group in the post and follow up tests on the Scale of Burnout.

Results showed high effect size of the cognitive behavioral counseling program in reducing burnout of the experimental group as well.

The researcher recommended using the cognitive behavioral counseling program used in the present study for reducing burnout in educational counselors.
