This study, entitled "Historical and Cultural Value of Al-Shamlani Heritage Museum", aims to shed light on the history of Al- Shamlani Heritage Museum in Al-Atawlah heritage village, and to define the museum and its historical and cultural role.

It also focuses on the active role played by the on-site museums and their role in society, as they are considered the main guardian of historical and cultural identity.Museums play an important role in preserving heritage sources from loss, damage or theft, and displaying them in a distinctive way that allows visitor researchers to learn about the past through the artifacts displayed and their data.

This study is regarded as one of the few studies that linking the historical and heritage museums of the region with the tourism attraction of history and the monuments of the region.

It contributes to activate the role of heritage museums in sustainable tourism in the future, and to increase their role in national income.

The study deals with one of the most important on-site museums in Al-Baha region.

This study is divided into three sections, the content of which is on the geographical and historical framework of the region concerned, and the spatial analysis of Al-Atawlah heritage village.

The third section deals with the definition of on-site museums and their role and functions, provides a thorough historical investigation of Al- Shamlani Heritage Museum in Al-Atawlah heritage village, and to be aware to what extent its potential could be employed for the historical studies and surveys.
