The research discusses what some contemporary researchers have proposed—and it is said to be common in some Islamic countries—regarding cash waqf being used for loans with interest.

The principal of the loan is retained for repeat lending, while the interest is spent for the charitable purposes determined by the waqf endower.

The researcher relied on the analytical inductive method in presenting this phenomenon, and in determining the extent to which it actually occurs in this way, and the extent that jurisprudential or judicial references support it.

The research concluded that there is no basis for this and proposed a legitimate alternative based on the decisions of collective jurisprudence, which is to use cash waqf for financing or to establish an Islamic finance company from the cash endowment.

It also discusses some aspects of the idea of a waqf bank from the researcher's point of view.
