A Program Based on Expectancy-Value Appraisals for Developing Secondary School Students' EFL Expressive Language Skills and Increasing Their Foreign Language Enjoyment
This study examined the effects of a program based on expectancy-value appraisals for developing secondary school students' EFL expressive language skills and increasing their foreign language enjoyment.

The experimental design was used where two groups of first year secondary school students enrolled at, Amin Elkholy, Secondary School, Ashmoun, Menoufiya Governorate, were assigned as a control group and an experimental one (32 students each).

The study instruments were a pre-post EFL expressive language test and a pre-post Foreign Language Enjoyment Scale.

The study instruments were administered to the participants of the study before and after the experiment.

For about eight weeks, the control group students received regular instruction while the students of the experimental group were taught using the program based on the expectancy-value appraisals.

The findings of the present study indicated that there were positive effects of the program on developing EFL expressive language skills and increasing foreign language enjoyment for secondary school students.
