The aim of this study is to present the concept and dimensions of food security in Egypt.

and recognizable current and potential challenges that prevent the achievement of self-sufficiency of primary crops and the achievement of the targeted development goals in accordance with Egypt's 2030 vision.

The state of food security witness slightly improved in terms of nutrition indicators and food availability.

but food security is mainly determined by food imports and the major challenges facing the agricultural development plan in accordance with Egypt's vision for the year 2030 are the limited cultivated area.

The study recommends the need to accelerate the implementation of the specific objectives of the agricultural development plan and encourage public and private investments to increase agricultural production and support agricultural exports.
