Reflection on the quantity and quality of human relationships within the internet in general, and social networking sites in particular, leads us to ask many questions related to the nature of the relationship between the ego and the other in digital world.

Thus, one of the major and exigent questions in our digital age centers on the extent to which the theoretical foundations provided by sociology can explain interaction and social communication digitally.

Accordingly, this article aims to shed light on Erving Goffman’s theory of theatrical representation and the extent of applicability on the digital space, where the process of digital self-presentation is one of the most important phenomena that must be understood, explained and analyzed.
