The research dealt with the issue of the absence of the father where the literary text addressed numerous prospects.

However, the research approached the text from the viewpoint of literary reception theory, and the poet wanted to go through the various stages of the woman’s innermost expectations and the rumors surrounding that and her ill-disciplined son.

Furthermore, the research scrutinized the personas and characters who took part in the events (the absentee, the wife, the son, the surrounding – animates and inanimate) through a close and distant dialogue demonstrated by the reception criticism.

The wife expects the husband to return through the personification and humanization of nature and her missionaries and the desire for the return of her “heart”, but she desperately and miserably resolved the expectation with recurrent negations (not… has NOT returned).

And, at this stage, going through the expectation of rumors after her feeling of hopelessness makes her rebalance her life through the dialogue of yearning and longing and as a practical step, she goes out to meet people and socialize.

Then, she follows mass media but to no avail because all around her does not reverberate with life and hope as the gate of the garden is bolted and there is no light in the house, and the heart is gloomy, and the cup of coffee turned into doses of agony and the phone has turned mute.

She illustrates a model of loss and wait fluctuating between despair and hope.

Amidst that darkness and sadness, the son turns up to give her hope by telling him about the return of the father, in an attempt to restore balance and resilience again and again, but the attempt she fabricated failed, and it became clear that it was so childish and immature and therefore she returns to a dark tunnel of unhappiness and hopelessness dressed in the attire of disappointment and lethargy.
