The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the traditional delivery of education, prompting schools to con sider online platforms.

however, the art and design mode of education has been a challenge.

hence, this study discusses online course design as a form of distance learning in higher education.

It also highlights how to apply the quality matters TM rubric higher education standards (QMRHES) and provides a technological pedagogical content and knowledge (TPACK) framework to design and de velop an online course in the field of art and design with technology.

effective and purposeful technol ogy integration across all content areas is an essential skill for lecturers to learn in order to meet the needs of 21st-century learners and classrooms.

the online course is intended for faculty interested in applying effective practices in designing online courses in art and design.

the results share the instruc tor's experiences in designing an online course for a fine arts program.

It also discusses technology integration in art and design courses, designs and develops "terminology in fine arts" online course by applying QMHERS, and art students engaged in learning 21-century skills.

there are also some solution-based recommendations to consider when designing an online course in art and design.
