an investigative reading of the texts indicates that the stream of consciousness technique could be interpreted as a manifestation of the characters' unconscious suppressed desires and conflicts, as well as a reflection of the social and cultural contexts in which these characters exist.

drawing on the theories of Sigmund Freud and Jacques lacing, the analysis explores the themes of repression, sexuality, trauma, and identity in these works.

eventually, the study suggests that Joyce's use of the stream of consciousness technique offers a unique insight into the complexities of human experience and the ways in which human inner lives are shaped by both internal and external forces.
