Introduction: there have been Hadiths on which some jurists have based a legal ruling, which is to delay the afternoon prayer.

I wanted to unveil this issue by explaining the Hadiths in it, understanding the commentators of them, and standing on the doctrines of the imams considered jurists in this matter, so I collected the narrations contained in this issue, namely “the narrations contained in the delay of the afternoon prayer” until the reader stopped what heals the ill, and narrates the Ghalil in what seems to him from the appearance of these narrations; the divine revelation does not contradict it, and if it exists, according to the appearance, as some Hadiths are general and have what they allocate, and some are absolute have what restricts it, and some of them are complete and have what separates it, and others are abrogated by its copyist, or because one of the Hadiths did not come from the prophet (but some trustworthy people made a mistake in it and attributed it to the prophet), or the conflict is in the mind of the beholder and not in the same words as him, or that some Hadiths have something that complements their jurisprudence in other Hadiths.

objective: this study came to shed light on these Hadiths and the statement of the opinion of scholars on the issue of narrations contained in the preference of the afternoon prayer, and direct their evidence, and weighting the opinion that is consistent with the context of the honorable systems, and see whether Abu Hanifa agreed in his choice to delay the afternoon prayer, and his response to the opinion of the public of jurists who prevent it, or that it has been right that was the first to carry it Hadiths? the research consisted of an introduction, three sections, and a conclusion: the introduction included: the research plan, the reasons for choosing the topic, my methodology in the research, previous studies, the importance of the research, its problem, its limits, and its questions.

the first topic: the correct narrations are explicit contained in the delay of the afternoon prayer.

the second topic: the incorrect explicit narrations contained in the delay of the afternoon prayer the third topic: the sayings of jurists in the preference of delaying and accelerating the afternoon prayer.

the conclusion included: a summary of its findings, and then the most important recommendations.

-methodology: I adopted the inductive, descriptive and analytical approach, so I extrapolated and followed the narrations of delaying the afternoon prayer, and I described them, and then analyzed them by stating the opinions of scholars in them with the statement of the most correct.

results: the most correct view in the matter is the preference of speeding up the Asr prayer, and the Hanafi view is that it is preferable to delay the Asr prayer to the public otherwise.

recommendations: consider the Hadiths that delude the apparent contradiction to reconcile and combine them so that those who have no knowledge of these rules and that art goes astray and mislead, or the commoner learns about the aspect of the Hadiths that are proven alone or only negated and works out and quarrels and is hostile to them.
