It would be undoubtedly indisputable to say that war has never been absent from the international scene, but wars, are seemingly taking new forms, and undergoing transformations which free them from the framework that states had, in the past, imposed on them.
we are witnessing a transformation of the conflictuality which is emerging in the light of the major politico-strategic changes that the international system has undergone since the beginning of this century, and which are profoundly upsetting our conception of war, peace, and world order.
this paper aims at highlighting the essential determinants of war, as defined by polemologists, in order to deconstruct the belief that attests that war and peace exclude each other; in other words: that war excludes peace and vice versa.

Sans doute serait-il incontestable de dire que la guerre n'a jamais été absente de la scène internationale, mais les guerres, semble-t-il, sont en train de prendre des formes nouvelles, et connaissent des transformations qui font qu'elles s'affranchissent du cadre que les états leur avaient, par le passé, imposé.
on assiste à une transformation de la conflictualité qui se fait jour à la lumière des grandes mutations politico-stratégiques que le système international subit depuis le début de ce siècle, et qui sont en train de bouleverser profondément notre conception de la guerre, de la paix, et de l'ordre mondial.
l'objectif de cet article est de mettre en exergue les déterminants essentiels de la guerre, tels que définis par les polémologues, afin de déconstruire la croyance qui atteste que la guerre et la paix sont exclusitoires; autrement dit: que la guerre exclut la paix et inversement.
