Selection of genotypes of jojoba shrubs (simmondsia chinesis, (link)‎ schneider)‎ which grown in Wadi el-Natroun region, Egypt

During the two consecutive seasons 2020/2021, this inquiry was carried out on a private orchard in the Wadi-El-Natroun region in order to choose several genotypes of cultivated jojoba shrubs that flourish in this region.

They differ from other shrubs in that they have superior vegetative growth and yield.

The genotypes under investigation were given numbers ranging from 1 to 15.

Irrigation, fertilization, service operations, and environmental conditions were all the same for all of these genotypes.

In terms of plant height, lengths of new shoots, number of nodes/shrub, lengths of internodes, number of flowers, number of fruits, and average yield of the tree, genotype 9 was shown to have the best vegetative characteristics.

As a result, efforts were made to take cuttings from genotype No.

9 and reproduce it in order to spread its cultivation.

This genotype was also researched genetically in that location, and a genetic fingerprint was created to learn more about it.
