Looking for better educational teaching methods for the English language in our universities, became one of the most important issues that a lot of experts in this field try to find.

This field has become a separate special task for decades, researches were the main concern of teachers and researchers in the field of applied linguistics.

This led to the emergence of new concepts, teaching methods, and theories, as well as the emergence of many new approaches that are more interested in research in the field of second language acquisition.

This research provides a quick overview of the methods of teaching foreign languages and then presents some lexical approaches with explanations indicating the principles underlying them.

Also, it will mention some forms of ready-made structures as classified by several linguists in the language and give definitions of these terms .

That several forms of ready-made lexical structures have formed a very important lexical approach in the field of teaching English as a second language for our students, where this research will address this topic and its associated manifestations and how to deal with the importance of lexical methods in the acquisition of English language skills.

This paper also discusses several approaches to teaching English in the English departments of our university in Libya, where the curriculum focuses on some of the missing linguistics issues.
