Faced with the new demands imposed by globalization in terms of literacy, the development of reading comprehension skills among learners is increasingly necessary.

however, understanding text is a very costly cognitive exercise which requires the implementation of several mental operations, each as complex as the other (Chanquoy & Alamargot 2002; Charolles & Coltier 1986; Cornaire & Raymond 1999; Denhiere & Legros 1983; Fayol 1984; Garcia-Debanc 1986; Legros & Cosqueric 1995).

this complexity increases tenfold when it comes to understanding an informational text by learners enrolled in the first year, who do not have all the skills required to process this type of text.

thus, this article aims to show the benefit that didactic mediation can bring with video, to the understanding of the informational text.

الملخص FRE

Face aux nouvelles exigences imposées par la mondialisation en matière de littéraire, le développement des compétences en compréhension de l’écrit, chez les apprenants, s’impose de plus en plus.

toutefois, comprendre un texte constitue un exercice cognitif de haut niveau qui nécessite la mise en œuvre de plusieurs opérations mentales aussi complexes l’une que l’autre (Chanquoy & Alamargot 2002; Charolles & Coltier 1986; Cornaire & Raymond 1999; Denhiere & Legros 1983; Fayol 1996; Garcia-Debanc 1986; Legros & Cosqueric 1995).

cette complexité devient décuplée des qu’il s’agit de comprendre un texte informatif par des apprenants inscrits en première année secondaire, n’ayant pas toutes les compétences requises par le traitement de ce type de texte.

ainsi, cet article s’assigne pour objectif de montrer la plus-value que peut apporter la médiation didactique par l’usage de la vidéo, a la compréhension du texte informatif.
