Condensation of 2-arylidene-1-tetralones I and 2-arylidene- l- Benzosuberones II with 4-phenylsemicarbazide and 4- phenylthiosemicarbazide revealed the formation of the corresponding N-phenylcarbamoyl pyrazolines III,IV and N-Phenylthiocarbamoyl pyrazolines V,and VI respectively.

The structure of all products was substantiated by chemical and spectral methods
