الملخص EN

As the ever increasing fuel bill is one of the major items in production costs in industry, the cement producers like many other heavy oil consumers are in continuous search for alternative cheaper fuels to replace wholly or partially the conventional fuels in an attempt to lower their cost of production.

This paper is investigating the possibility of utilizing sugar cane bagasse as a complementary fuel in the Sudan cement kilns as it is abundant in considerable amounts with minimum surplus around hundred thousand tons annually.

Also the paper will elaborate the results of different laboratory experiments to show the thermal and chemical effects of some bagasse mix fuels such as pure bagasse, bagasse with different percentages of molasses and bagasse coal upon the produced clinker.

The existing practical experience in utilizing the bagasse in the local sugar factories as a supplement or even total replacement to furnace oil
