الملخص EN

The aim of the study is to measure the blood lead level in human blood samples after Bahrain implementation of unleaded gasoline in 2000.

The concentration of lead was measured in the blood of 100 human adults by atomic absorption spectrophotometry in March 2008, eight years after the implementation of unleaded gasoline, July, 2000, in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The present study was conducted at the University of Bahrain.

Students and University employees from different regions in Bahrain were randomly screened.

The blood lead level of participants were found to be (2.09 ± 1.27 μg / dl), that is the international acceptable level < 10 μg / dl.

The blood lead level declined from 15.38 ± 5.56 μg / dl in 1990 and 15.3 ± 5.7 μg / dl in April 2000 to 2.09 ± 1.27 μg / dl in March 2008, due to the introduction of unleaded gasoline in July 2000.
