Spectral studies and characterization of cr (III)‎ complexes with some nitrogen-oxy and nitrogen-sulphur donor ligands

Cr (III) complexes are synthesized with thiosemicarbazones (L1, L3 and L5) and semicarbazones (L2, L4 and L6) derived from pyrrole-2-carboxyaldehyde, 2-acetyl furan and 2-acetyl thiophene.

These are characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility measurements, mass, IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies.

The molar conductance measurement of the complexes in DMSO corresponds to 1 : 1 electrolyte in nature.

On the basis of spectral studies an octahedral geometry has been assigned for all the complexes.
