In-vitro evaluation of Captopril tablets present in Yemen markets

Objective: To investigate the quality of drug content and in vitro availability of different brands of Captopril tablet formulations collected from different retail pharmacy in Yemen markets. Methods: Fifteen brands of commonly used captopril tablet formulations were purchased from Sana’a the capital of Yemen, in their original packages as supplied by the manufacturer.

The selected brands were assayed for weight variation, friability, hardness, disintegration, drug content and dissolution profiles according to the US Pharmacopoeia.
