A novel technique for obtaining the model parameters of PVG Panels

In this paper a simple and reliable technique is proposed for obtaining the model parameters of the traditional model of l-V characteristics of photovoltaic generators (PVG), by using few measurements, which includes only the open circuit voltage and short circuit current at three different radiation levels.

The accuracy of the proposed technique is verified by comparing the actual measured I- V characteristics with their counterparts that are obtained by using the model parameters obtained as result of this investigation.

It is shown that parameters predicted from using the simple technique proposed in this paper results in an excellent match between measured and calculated I- V characteristics.
