Consideration of varying loading and soil non-homogeneity in settlement analysis for large areas

A settlement analysis of large areas with varying loading and ground conditions is presented in this paper.

In assessing ground surface displacements it is important to evaluate interaction between a structure and soil.

Very often ground conditions and applied loads will cause different settlements of a ground surface under a structure.

A computer program was created to calculate the settlements of a ground surface affected by loads.

The calculation algorithm is based on the solution of the elasticity theory.

The calculation results of this work are given by the ground surface settlements and stress distribution with depth at certain points of the site.
