Viscosity measurements of alkaline earth metal dodecyl sulphate salts in water

Viscosity of Alkaline earth metal (Mg, Ca and Sr) dodecyl sulphate salt solutions have been measured at different temperature (308-323K).

Vand, Moulik and Jones-Dole equations have been used to examine the viscosity data.

The parameters of these equations may be used to calculate the viscosity of salt solutions in the valid concentration range.

The temperature dependence of fluidity of salts has been studied by Arrhenius and Eyring equations.

Activation parameters of viscous flow, Activation energy ΔH *, entropy of activation Δ S * and free energy of activation Δ G * have been evaluated.

These parameters show a change at c.

suggesting the micellar behaviour and solute-solvent interaction of the salts in water.
