A 10 kilogram breast lump : case report

Introduction : A case of giant fibro adenoma which weight 10 Kg is reported.

Clinical picture : A 34 years old nulliparous Sudanese female patient was presented to the surgical outpatient clinic by huge right breast mass.

Clinical examination, mammogram and FNA suggested payloads tumor.

Simple mastectomy was done and histopathologically examination diagnosed it as benign payloads tumor in a background of giant fibro adenoma.

Outcome: postoperative course was uneventful and the patient is fine one year after surgery.

Breast reconstruction is planed with plastic surgery department.

Conclusion : Giant fibro adenomas have to be differentiated from payload cyst sarcoma and from the breast hematoma and asymmetric breast hyper trophy in girls by the lack of mammary lobules.

Giant fibro adenoma should take its due place in the diagnostic algorithm of the breast tumors.
