الملخص EN

This study was conducted to clinically and radiographically evaluate the effect of number of short implants in the rehabilitation of badly resorbed mandibular ridges.

Twelve patients were selected aged from 47 to 69 years, each with severely resorbed mandibular ridges.

The selected patients were divided into two groups.

The first group received implant overdentures fully supported by six short implants.

The second group received implant overdentures supported by eight short implants.

Implants were clinically and radiographically evaluated at the time of the prosthetic insertion then at 6 months intervals for a one year period.

The study results showed no statistically significant difference between the two groups, both clinically and radiographically.
