الملخص الإنجليزي

Field experiment was carried study the effect of pollination and water spray on fruit set, yield and some fruit characteristics on two date palm cultivars 'Hayani' and 'Zaghloly'.

Results of this investigation have showed that hand pollination method has better fruit set and yield in both cultivars, but has less fruit weight owing to the increase of yield.

The least fruit set was noticed when water had been sprayed after 3 hours from pollination in both pollination methods (hand and hand duster pollination).

The pollination method and water - timing spray did not significantly affected fruit length, diameter, flesh and seed weight, total and reducing sugars in 'Zaghloly' date.

On the other hand 'Hayani' dates was significantly affected by pollination method and water timing spray particularly fruit diameter, length / diameter and TSS.
