The ideology of jihad : a content analysis of al-Qaeda documents

This research study reviews the realities of Jihad for the Third Islamic Internationalism " in a ladder of abstraction, extracted entirely from the original documents of Usama Bin Laden, the Al-Qaeda leader.

Six major categories of perception (the realities / index of jihad) were examined with reference to the general body of Islamic literature in both theory and practice throughout history.

The purpose of my action was to draw - through content analysis techniques - the basic characteristics and priorities of the mastermind of new Jihad in the post-Cold War era.

By coding the content analysis materials, a serious attempt was made to discover their applicability in a non-Western context.

Furthermore, this research study seeks to contribute to the database, methodology, and substantive knowledge of the Islamic Jihadi Campaign against the West in general, and the scope and methods of managing an international protracted conflict in an age involving a clash of civilizations, in particular.
