الملخص الإنجليزي

-The aim of the current study is to investigate the effect of using multiple intelligences (Verbal /Linguistic, Logical /mathematical, spatial, Interpersonal, and Intrapersonal Intelligence) on developing grammar of eighth grade students in Mid-Badia educational directorate.

The population of the study consisted of all male and female eighth grade students of English as a foreign language, in Amman public School in Mid-Badia educational directorate during the second semester of the academic year 2007-2008.

The sample of this study consisted of 128 eighth grade students, sixty-four were male student from Al-Faysalia secondary school for boys and sixty-four were female students from Al-Faysalia secondary school for girls of Mid-Badia educational directorate during the second semester 2007/2008.

The sample consisted of four eighth grade sections, which were selected purposefully.

In order to achieve the purposes of the study the researcher developed a test of grammar comprehension consisted of 40 questions distributed on five domains.

The study attempted to answer the following questions: 1- Are there any statistical significant differences at (α=0.05) between the groups due to the methods of teaching (multiple intelligences V.S traditional methods)? 2- Are there any statistical significant differences at (α=0.05) between the groups due to the gender (male or female)? 3- Are there any statistical significant differences at (α=0.05) between the groups due to the interaction between gender and method of teaching? The findings of the study indicated that there were statistically significant differences in the post-test between the control group and the experimental group in favor of the experimental group, and there was a statistically significant difference in the students' achievement due to gender in favor of females.

There was statistically significant difference due to the interaction between gender and group in favor of female in the experimental group.

The researcher proposed some recommendations to enhance the effect of using multiple intelligences on English grammar comprehension, therefore, he prepared and presented training program by using multiple intelligence strategies to provide the basis requirements for the development of English grammatical comprehension.
